Novel compounds of general formula <FORM:1122715/C2/1> <FORM:1122715/C2/2> wherein R is OH or halogen, R3 is C1- 5 alkyl, R6 is C1- 5 alkoxy or C2- 4 haloalkoxy and R7 is di(C1- 5)alkylamino are prepared by cyclization of a compound of formula <FORM:1122715/C2/3> optionally followed by hydrolysis and optionally further followed by conversion to the acid chloride R = halogen and optionally with reconversion back to an ester by reaction of compound R = OH or Cl with an alcohol R3OH. Acrylates of the general formula <FORM:1122715/C2/4> are prepared by reaction of a malonate of formula R3.O.CH:C(COOR3)2 with a compound of formula <FORM:1122715/C2/5> Substituted amines of the last general formula above are prepared by reduction of the corresponding nitro compounds (NO2 for NH2) which themselves are prepared by nitration of the R6, R7 substituted benzenes. o-n-Propyldiethylaniline is prepared by reaction of the o-phenol with propyl bromide and NaH. N,N-diethyl-o-(a ,a ,b -trifluoro -b - chloroethyoxy) - aniline is prepared by ethylation of the corresponding aniline which is itself prepared by reduction of the corresponding nitrocompound.ALSO:Compositions for the control of coccidiosis comprise one or more novel compounds of formula <FORM:1122715/A5-A6/1> wherein R3 is C1-5 alkyl, R is OH or halogen R6 is C1-5 alkoxy or C2-4 haloalkoxy and R7 is di (C1-5)-alkylamino and an orally ingestible carrier or diluent and optionally a compound not of the above formulae which is a known coccidiostatic compound. A method for the prevention or treatment of coccidiosis comprises administration of an above novel compound or composition to poultry. |
