The regulating unit has a pressure switch (7) connected to a connecting pipe between a low pressure side of an ejector (8) and a vacuum mattress (10) or vacuum cushion via a balancing volume (11). A position correcting switch (9) is arranged in the connecting pipe between the low pressure side of the ejector and vacuum mattress or vacuum cushion and is switchable in such a manner that the pressurized air flows from a gas inlet (1) directly into the vacuum mattress or vacuum cushion via the position correcting switch.
