<p>1-Carboxymethyl-2-methyl-3-p-chlorobenzoyl-6-ethylindole, anti-inflammatory. Title cpd. is prepd. by acylating 2-methyl-6-ethyl indole with N,N-dialkyl-p-chlorobenzamide in the presence of a halogenating agent and hydrolysing the complex in basic media to form 2-methyl-3p-chlorobenzoyl-6-ethyl indole. This product is metallised (e.g. with NaH) and reacted with Halogen-CH2-COO-Alkyl to give an alkyl ester of 1-carboxymethyl-2-methyl-3-p-chlorobenzoyl-6-ethyl indole which is hydrolysed to give the title cpd. The cpd. has anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity with practically no ulcerogenic effect.</p> |
