A charger (200) can read an ID code from a transponder key of an immobilizer system of a contract vehicle. When an owner of the vehicle connects a vehicle (100) and charger (200) with a charging cable and brings the transponder key close to a reading portion, the read ID code is transmitted from charger (200) toward vehicle (100) where authentication is performed. Vehicle (100) transmits an authentication result to charger (200). Preferably, these transmission and reception can be performed by power line communication employing a vehicle cable.
