A mobile terminal for conveniently changing a font by a user portable terminal and a font change method thereof are provided to store a user font set by the user by using the font provided to the mobile terminal and change the font by conveniently inputting the key. A set value of a font is selected, set up as a user font and stored(S30). The user font is indicated by the selected set value. One of the stored user fonts is selected(S50). The currently used font is changed into the selected user font(S70). The font value includes a kind of fonts, a font size, and a font color. One of an example view by a kind of fonts, setting a default, setting a random font, a selection of the user, preview, and inputting a name is performed.
