An organic electroluminescent display device is provided to reduce the number of required display memory in the sub-field unit drive and enhance sampling effectiveness and accuracy of the monitoring pixel. In an organic electroluminescent display device, display unit(110) includes a plurality of sub pixels arranged in the top of the substrate as the matrix type. One or more monitoring pixel(120) is positioned in order to correspond to the emitted light color of the sub pixel(115) on the outside of the display unit. A power supply unit(180) supplies voltage and current to the sub pixel and monitoring pixel. A data adjustment unit receives an image data frame stored from the host memory part by a bit unit and converted the image data frame into a plurality of sub-field units. One display memory unit(160) stores the image data frame stored in the host memory unit(140) to a plurality of sub-field units with the operation of the data adjustment unit. A sample hold unit(190) samples the current supplied to the monitoring pixel, supplies the sampled value to the power supply unit, and controls the voltage supplied to the sub pixel.
