<p>Risers for casting steel or for foundry moulds and which are adjustable in size and re-useable consist of a sheet metal frame having means for supporting it on top of a chill or mould, with inside the frame a layer of supple insulating material e.g. mineral wool, rock wool, Kaowool (RTM), and inside this a layer of exothermic material which may be of known compsn. which contacts the molten metal in the chill or mould.</p> |
