An echo cancelling method and an apparatus thereof without distorting near end signal are provided to perform a real time process without additional calculation quality of an algorithm and without distorting near end signal by applying a process method. A near end signal and far end signal are generated(302). The far end signal passes through an acoustic echo path, mixes the calculated echo signal with the near end signal and calculates object signal(304). The calculated object signal is mixed with approximated echo signal and echo cancelation signal is produced(306). The coefficient of correlation is outputted by applying post process coefficient to echo cancelation signal and object signal(312). If the outputted critical value is smaller than the predetermined critical value, the coefficient value of correlation is multiplied with the echo cancelation signal and outputted(318).
