A system and method for collecting and processing transportation information is provided to monitor the traffic by transmitting ag information of the vehicles in which the RFID tag is adhered or the sensor ID. In collects the traffic information by using USN from the vehicles, a plurality of RFID readers(300) is installed at the different spot along with the road, reads the RFID tag information of the vehicles passing through the RF antenna in the prescribed distance if the vehicles in which the RFID tag is adhered passes. A master sink node(100) is connected to one or more RFID reader installed in the road of the jurisdiction district, receives the RFID tag information of the vehicles in which the RFID tag sensed from one or more RFID readers is adhered. The RFID tag information of the vehicles in which the RFID tag is adhered is collected through the information network from the master sink node and the location information of the vehicles based on the location of the RFID reader and detects the received RFID tag information, and the traffic management center(TMC) server monitors the speed and traveling direction, and provides all kinds of the traffic guidance and USN traffic information service.
