A system capable receiving a VOD service without searching contents in the other service terminal by using information of a user and a method thereof are provided to receive contents from a VOD service terminal without an additional search by using multimedia contents information in a multimedia terminal. A multimedia terminal(200) produces a requirement message by using a contents file name and meta data for a VOD service request. A service provider contents transmits the requirement message, received from the terminal, to a VOD service provider. A contents server(250) requests transmission to a streaming server(260) by searching the service provider contents, generating a reproduce list and processing a charge. |
