The device has a vertical cavity surface emitting laser (1) and optoelectronic component (2) e.g. PIN photodiode, mounted on opposite main surfaces (3.1, 3.2) of an intermediate layer (3). A semi-transparent grating coupler (5) e.g. Bragg grating, is incorporated in the intermediate layer and coupled to an optical waveguide (4). The waveguide carries a part of light emitted by the laser. The coupler is sandwiched between an emissive surface of the laser and the component. The waveguide has a core made of silicon, doped silica or material obtained from sol-gel, resin or polymer. An independent claim is also included for a method for forming an optoelectronic device. |
