Contoured strip has a core of relatively hard rigid synthetic to which is fused a partial wrap of soft thin synthetic which can be heat welded to a bearing surface without melting the core. Specifically the strip may be generally homogeneous in cross section. The thin wrap may be on generally flat side of the core.
