<p>Racemic and optically-active gamma-lactams of 6H, 7H-cis-7-p-amino-phenylacetamido-3-aminomethylceph-3-em-4-carboxy- lic acids are antibacterial agents active against penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus, the daily dose for an adult being 0.5 to 5.0 g depending on the route of administration. The cpds. are prepd. by reacting an N-protected p-aminophenylacetic acid deriv. with the gamma-lactam of the cephalosporin nucleus.</p> |
