Granular detergent production process

Strong, bulky detergent granules are made from a mixture of alkali silicate (of average compsn. Na2O/SiO2=1/2.1, made up of 5-8% with Na2O/SiO2 = 1/2.1-3.1, and of 20-95% of total compsn. with Na2O/SiO2 = 1/1.8-2.1), at least two org. surfactants, and 24-30% water. The doughy mixture is sheeted out and cut longitudinally and transversely to give uniform grains of size 1-3 mm.
