An audio/video apparatus for vehicle having instant rear monitoring function is provided to secure safety in case a driver move reverse by displaying an image photographed from a rear view camera at once after starting an engine. An audio/video apparatus for vehicle having instant rear monitoring function comprises a rear view camera(80), installed in the rear of a vehicle, photographing the rear view of a vehicle; a display unit(70) showing the image; and a central processing unit(50) converting the image into the format capable of being displayed on the display unit. An image selection logic part(60) transmits image data photographed from the rear view camera or the central processing unit into the display unit. In case input from the rear view camera is sensed, the image data photographed from the rear view camera are transmitted into the display unit. In case booting the central processing unit is finished or there is no input from the rear view camera, image data photographed in the central processing unit are transmitted into the display unit.
