An image forming apparatus and a method thereof are provided to display feature information on a user interface window in a standby state, thereby easily providing the feature information to a user. An image forming apparatus transceives data with an external apparatus through a public switched telephone network. The image forming apparatus(200) comprises a storage unit(210), a display unit(230) and a controller(220). In the storage unit, the feature information is stored. When the image forming apparatus is in a standby state, a control unit controls the following operations. The feature information stored in the storage unit is read and displayed on a display unit.
