A circuit for controlling noises of an air cleaner and a method thereof are provided to improve stillness of an air cleaner without decreasing the air purification efficiency by generating driving sound much lower than surrounding noise based on sensing of the indoor noises. A controller(11) which consists of a microcomputer controls the operation of an air cleaner, and a signal input unit(13) inputs the operation information that a user selects to the controller. A power unit(15) supplies the power for driving the controller and the air cleaner by the control of the signal input unit, and a noise sensor(17) senses the noises around the air cleaner while operating the air cleaner. According to the sound level sensed by the noise sensor, a fan motor drives the driving sound lower than the sensed noise level.
