A chip for filling artificial turf is provided to block the sunlight absorption and the smell of the rubber, and not to increase the temperature of ground over the room temperature and have a scratch and burn, thereby providing the agreeable environment of exercise. A chip for filling artificial turf is produced by selecting the polyurethane rubber from waste materials, and pulverizing it to obtain a chip having the particle size of 0.5 ~ 1.0mm; mixing 30 ~ 90 weight% of the produced polyurethane rubber chip and 10 ~ 70 weight% of loess having the particle size of 0.1 ~ 1.0mm; adding 5 ~ 15 parts by weight of polyurethane resin solution based on 100 parts by weight of the mixture; producing a chip having polygon; and passing it through a sieve of 2.0mm and a sieve of 0.8mm to have the size of 0.8mm ~ 2.0mm.
