A method for transmitting and receiving file in a mobile terminal which conveniently transmits and shares data with the other mobile terminal is provided to increase the convenience of a user by sharing and transmitting data regardless of size and kinds of data between mobile terminals. A first mobile terminal transmits file information of a file to an MMS server and transmits connection information of the file information to a second mobile terminal(S214). A second mobile terminal connects to the MMS server by using the received connection information and receives an MMS mail. If the file information permission signal is received, the first mobile terminal transmits the signal requesting the connection of data channel to a base station controller(S219).
