A system for protecting a pedestrian of an automobile is provided to effectively protect a pedestrian by detecting a pedestrian prior to a collision against an automobile. A system for protecting a pedestrian of an automobile comprises an electromagnet(10) forming magnetic field, installed to an automobile; a sensor(12) detecting magnetic flux density surrounding the electromagnet varying as pedestrian approached an automobile; and an electronic control unit(14) predicting and determining a collision against pedestrian according to signal of the sensor. At least one electromagnet is installed to a bumper of an automobile. |
