An electro-optical device, a driving method thereof, and an electronic apparatus improve color development and gradation characteristics by suppressing color separation due to a color sequential driving method. A light source control unit switches the light source color so that the switching cycle of the light source color is shorter than the cycle when the light crystal in a pixel comprises the gradation light with regard to at least two of three light source colors.
