An electro-luminescence device is provided to suppress the uniformity of gap without giving damage to the gas barrier layer, so display quality is improved. A display element layer includes the switching element arranged as the matrix shape and the emitting device is controlled by the switching element. The display element substrate(1) includes the sealing layer having a gas barrier layer having the function of blocking the steam formed on the display element layer. The protection substrate(2) consisting of the transparent material on which at least the spacer, made of the material having different surface, is laminated. The spacer of the top layer and gas barrier layer are formed to be contacted each other. The coefficient of elasticity of the spacer of the top layer is lower that the gas barrier layer. |
