A direct memory access based multi channel audio decoding apparatus using a time division method and a multi channel audio decoding method using the same are provided to implement multi channel audio playback of high quality by hardware with respect to performance of a CPU by using specific direct memory access. A CPU(210) processes data. A memory unit(220) is connected through the CPU and a bus. And the memory unit includes at least two channels for storing data. An audio decoder unit(230) converts the data and outputs audio. A specific direct memory access controller(240) is connected between the CPU and an audio decoder unit. And the specific direct memory access controller receives bus control authorization from the CPU to transmit data stored in respective channels of a memory unit respectively in a time division method. Therefore the specific direct memory access controller implements multi channel audio. |
