A path data managing method and system are provided to judge the validity of the set up path of being automatically and delete unnecessary path data. A path data managing method includes a step for storing path data according to the navigation operation(410), a step for determining whether or not the path data is valid(420), and a step for storing or deleting the path data based on the validity determination(430).
