A method for editing a telephone directory using a caller subscriber phone number in a mobile phone is provided to display information of the caller on a screen of a receiver and modify the phone number of the receiver automatically if the telephone book of the mobile terminal of the receiver has a phone number similar to the phone number of the caller when the phone number of the caller is changed. Information of the caller is displayed on a screen of a receiver and the phone number of the receiver automatically is modified if the telephone book of the mobile terminal of the receiver has a phone number similar to the phone number of the caller. If the mobile terminal, internet phone, and a telephone including a function having a caller phone number has a phone number similar to the telephone number list, the contents of a filed including similar phone number of an entry is modified to the phone number of the caller(230).
