A liquid crystal display device is provided to improve the aperture ratio by reducing the signal delay and light leakage. A first substrate comprises a gate line(121), a data line(141) which are intersecting with the gate line, a switching element which are operated by the signal applied to the gate line and data line, and pixel electrode(161) which is connected to the switching element electrically. A second substrate comprises common electrode. The common electrode connects the pixel electrode and a first part(251a) which is facing the pixel electrode. One of the gate line and the data line is piled up with a second part(251b).
