A print media feeder and an image forming apparatus employing the same can prevent damage noise of the print media feeder when separating the feeder from the image forming apparatus by reducing the falling speed of the loading plate regardless of the amount of the loaded print media. A print media feeder comprises a frame(51), a loading plate(55) loading print media, a lift mechanism(60) lifting the loading plate within the frame, an installation unit(71) installed on one of the frame and loading plate, a joint(73) combined to the other one of the frame and loading plate, and an elastic unit(70) located between the installation unit and joint and including a spring(75) which elastically lessens the falling motion of the loading plate.
