<p>A portable fitness device is described comprising a frame, and an opening defined by the frame. The device is configured to be placed on a surface such that the opening defines a step area, which may be a part of the surface, and the frame separates the step area from a first region of the surface. The opening is configured to enable a user to step through the opening between the step area and the first region of the surface. In a preferred embodiment the device is height adjustable. Methods of use are also described. The device facilitates a range of exercise routines suitable for individuals with varying levels of fitness.</p>
