A method (500) of estimating an angle ? of arrival of an audio signal (115) at an audio detector (101) includes (a) detecting the signal at multiple sensors (105, 107); (b) forming (501) a frequency domain representation of each detected signal and (c) dividing each representation into sub-bands; (d) for each sub-band, calculating (505, 507, 509) a parameter (d(?) ) which is dependent on the angle of arrival of the audio signal at the audio detector; (e) summing (517) the calculated parameter for different sub-bands in step (d) to find an angle ? at which the summed parameter is a minimum, wherein the sub-band values of the parameter are selected (511) for inclusion in the summing, dependent on a measurement of noise for the sub-band. An audio processor (101) and a communication terminal (100) are described.
