<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium ion secondary battery hardly decreasing discharge capacity and hardly increasing internal resistance when charge and discharge are repeated at a high temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium ion secondary battery is equipped with at least a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte prepared by dissolving an electrolyte in a nonaqueous solvent. The positive electrode contains a lithium transition metal composite oxide as a positive active material, and the negative electrode 3 contains a titanium oxide as a negative active material.
