PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photometric apparatus and an automatic analysis apparatus capable of measuring optical characteristics of liquids held in a plurality of reaction containers, which are moved across a plurality of light sources when a cuvette wheel is intermittently rotated once, with a plurality of light beams having different wavelengths. SOLUTION: In the photometric apparatus used in the automatic analysis apparatus and the automatic analysis apparatus, optical characteristics of liquids held in the containers are measured with a plurality of light beams having different wavelengths as moving the containers. The photometric apparatus 13 has the plurality of light sources 13b having different outgoing wavelengths arranged in the direction of movement of the containers 5. The photometric apparatus 13 has a light-receiving element 13d opposed to the plurality of light sources via the containers and receives a plurality of light beams having different wavelengths emergent from the plurality of light sources. The length L of arrangement of the plurality of light sources in the direction of movement of the containers is set shorter than the arrangement pitch P of the containers.
