PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of minimizing leakage of a refrigerant in a chamber. SOLUTION: This air conditioner has a compressor 31 compressing and delivering the refrigerant, a heat exchanger 32 cooling the refrigerant delivered from the compressor 31, a pressure reducing means 34 decompressing and expanding the refrigerant flowed out of the heat exchanger 32, and an evaporator 16 arranged on the air-conditioning chamber inner (2) side and evaporating the refrigerant decompressed and expanded by the pressure reducing means 34, and has an opening-closing valve 35 opening-closing a refrigerant flow passage on the refrigerant inlet side of the evaporator 16, a refrigerant leakage detecting means 25 detecting that the refrigerant leaks out into the air-conditioning chamber 2, and a control means 26 for controlling closing of the opening-closing valve 35 and controlling so as to stop the compressor 31 after operating for a predetermined time, when detecting refrigerant leakage by the refrigerant leakage detecting means 25.
