PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic aligning roller bearing for a paper making machine for facilitating easy axial movement between an outer ring and a housing which is inexpensive and easy to assemble and has a long bearing life. SOLUTION: The automatic aligning roller bearing 20 for the paper machine rotatably supports a roll shaft 33 of the paper making machine 10 while allowing the axial movement of the outer ring 21 internally fit to the housing 31. In an outer circumferential surface 21b of the outer ring 21, a lubricating film structured by a solid lubricant is coated over a part occupying 75% or more in an area rate.
