PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact driving machine having a long service life. SOLUTION: The driving machine 1 is provided with a housing 2, a motor 3 provided in the housing 2, a plunger 63 for driving a nail, and a coil spring 62 comprising a steel wire 62A, compressed by the motor 3 to accumulate elastic energy and accelerating the plunger 63 by releasing the accumulated elastic energy. On the cross section of the steel wire 62A in the radial direction of the coil spring 62, the length in the radial direction of the cross section is set longer than the length in the axial direction of the cross section of the coil spring 62.
