<p>Two pixel electrodes provided on an arbitrary pixel within the same pixel row (for example, PLj) are connected with one or the other of two adjacent data signal lines (for example, 15X and 15Y). In sequentially blocking two consecutive pixels within the pixel row (PLi), for two pixels belonging to the same block and adjoining in the row direction (for example, PX1 and PX2), the data signal line to which two pixel electrodes provided on one pixel are connected is different from the data signal line to which two pixel electrodes provided on the other pixel are connected. For two pixels belonging to the different blocks and adjoining in the row direction (for example, PX2 and PX3), the data signal line to which two pixel electrodes provided on one pixel are connected is same as the data signal line to which two pixel electrodes provided on the other pixel are connected, and a signal potential (+) above the reference potential and a signal potential (-) below the reference potential are supplied to the data signal lines alternately for every two horizontal periods. During a horizontal period when the signal potential (+) above the reference potential is supplied to one of two adjacent data signal lines (for example, 15X and 15Y), the signal potential (-) below the reference potential is supplied to the other data signal line. Such a method ensures to enhance the display quality of a pixel segmentation type liquid crystal display employing the 2H/1V inversion drive.</p> |
