PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery superior in large current discharge characteristics with small connection resistance by solving a problem that connection resistance between a lower current collector and a metallic bottomed case is high. SOLUTION: The secondary battery is formed by connecting an upper current collector 30 to the upper end and a lower current collector 31 to the lower end of an electrode plate group 25 composed of a belt-shape positive electrode plate 21 and a negative electrode plate 22, and a separator 26, and accommodating them in a metallic bottomed case 27 together with a electrolytic solution and sealing them. Three pieces of projections 32 are formed at the center of the lower current collector 31, and by avoiding the plurality of projections 32 from contacting with the electrode plate group, the bottom face of the metallic bottomed case 27 and the lower current collector 31 are electrically connected through at least one of the projections 32.
