<p>A tensioning device (10) for applying vertical tensioning to a truck or trailer side curtain comprises an arm (12) adapted to slide from a retracted position under a floor of the truck or trailer body, to an extended position wherein a hook (11) at the outer end of the arm projects from the side of the floor for engaging a rope or cable (37) along the bottom edge of a side curtain. The arm is then adapted to pivot downwardly to a final position whereby vertical tension is applied to the curtain. The arm is actuated by a pneumatic cylinder (23) and a number of such devices are mounted along the side of the truck or trailer body.</p> |
