PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for processing an endoscope image, improved in visibility of an opalescent tissue structure by an image processing means. SOLUTION: In this method, the supply of an image from an electronic color video camera 3 of a medical endoscope 1 is received, and subsequently, an image is improved by an image processor 5 for transmitting to an image display device. First, based on a pixel, color components R, G, B are converted from a color space RGB used in the video camera to a color space HSL whose saturation S is not related to the other components H, L, and subsequently the saturation components S of the respective pixels to be converted are converted by a non-linear characteristic curve 11 for amplifying a saturation difference between the upper range b-1 and the lower range 0-b of the saturation.
