PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope device, which can be changed from a confocal microscope to a total-reflection fluorescent microscope by changing fluorescent cubes used in a fluorescent microscope. SOLUTION: The microscope device 1 comprises an illuminating optical system for irradiating a specimen with laser luminous fluxes from laser light sources 32 and 42, a fluorescence detecting optical system for detecting the fluorescence from the specimen, a plurality of fluorescent cubes 61 arranged in the illuminating optical system for guiding the laser luminous fluxes to the specimen, and an objective lens 16. At least one of the fluorescent cubes includes optical means 60 for making the main light of the laser luminous fluxes substantially parallel to the optical axis of the illuminating optical system and for collecting the laser luminous fluxes at a predetermined position spaced from the optical axis of a pupil position P of the objective lens.
