PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screening method for rapidly, easily, and efficiently retrieving a low molecule curing candidate compound to a prion disease, and to provide a prion disease curative medicine. SOLUTION: This screening method of the prion disease curative medicine indexes the inhibition of bonding of sugar including a disaccharide structure constituting a sulfated polysaccharide to a normal prion protein fragment containing at least amino acid sequence of N terminal regions digested and removed by protease processing of abnormal prion protein, or overall length normal prion protein. The prion disease curative medicine contains, as an effective component, one or more kinds selected from hetero disaccharide [GlcNS6Sα4IdoA2Sα] where N-sulfo-D-glucosamine 6-sulphuric acid and L-iduronic acid 2-sulphuric acid areα1-4 bonded together, its alkali metal salt, and its alkaline earth metals salt.
