PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus and a dial plate, used for the display apparatus, which increase the number of rising-sun-like sections, and enable novel display. SOLUTION: The dial plate 6a has rising-sun-like scales comprising a plurality of radial or circumferential concave-convex lines 65 about the rotational axis of an indicating needle. This dial plate 6a having the rising-sun-like scales comprises a translucent substrate 62; and since a dial plate illuminating LED 16 is disposed in the back of the dial plate 6a, a light enters from the front and the back of the dial plate 6a having the rising-sun-like scales, and the number of the rising-sun-like sections can be increased.
