<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin aging prevention agent containing a new component, a food produced by using the agent, a drug for mammals including human, an external preparation for skin and a feed for mammals. <P>SOLUTION: The agent for preventing the photoaging of skin contains an extract of a plant belonging to the family Cistanche as an active component. Preferable embodiments of the invention comprises the use of a phenylethanoid glycoside as an active component, the use of at least one substance selected from echinacoside and acteoside as the phenylethanoid glycoside and the use of both of echinacoside and acteoside as the active components.
