<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet-curable ink excellent in curability and scratch resistance, and excellent in ink jettability when used as an ink-jet ink, and to provide an image recording method using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The ultraviolet-curable ink essentially comprises water, a water-miscible solvent, an ethylenically unsaturated group-bearing compound, and a benzophenone compound represented by general formula (1) or a thioxanthone compound represented by general formula (2) (in the general formulas (1) and (2), W<SB>1</SB>, W<SB>2</SB>, W<SB>3</SB>and W<SB>4</SB>are each a substituent; X is an alkylene group; m and n are each an integer of ≥0; and p and q are each a natural number of ≥2) as a photoinitiator. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
