PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a resolution-evaluation value of a lens to be derived correctly. SOLUTION: An inverse gamma transform processing section 51 applies an inverse gammer transform processing to chart image data input from an image acquiring section 42, based on a reference table. A scanning processing section 53 acquires a plurality of scanning signals by scanning many times through a measurement position (e.g., position between a first marker 31 and a second marker 32c) determined by a marker detecting/locating section 52. A CTF calculating section 54 extracts a prescribed number of signals from the plurality of scanning signals which are acquired by the scanning processing section 53, in descending order of amplitude, and calculates a black brightness value and a white brightness value, based on these scanning signals.
