PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium where servo data are not overwritten and reproduced signal from becoming weak, and to provide a magnetic recording/reproducing device. SOLUTION: The film thickness of a protective layer 3 formed at the upper portion of a ferromagnetic layer 2 at a servo section is larger than that of the protective layer 3, formed at the upper portion of the ferroelectric layer 2 at a recording track section within a range of not smaller than 1 nm and not larger than 10 nm.
