PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform efficient disk recognition processing by reducing probability of failure of disk recognition. SOLUTION: When read-out of an access indicator fails, normally, disk recognition becomes failure, but in this invention, as processing for the case, read-out of DMA, TDMA1, and TDMA2 are executed, and an area in which the newest management information is recorded is discriminated from the recording status. The temporary management information area is used in order of TDMA0→TDMA1→TDMA2 for recording of TDMS in accordance with recording of user data. Also, recording is performed by finalization processing finally. Thereby, the newest recording area of TDMS in the present status can be discriminated depending on existence of DMA, TDMA1, TDMA2.
