<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for deforming a formed material containing fibers formed from a polymer. <P>SOLUTION: A method including a step of bringing the formed material containing the fibers formed from the polymer into contact with a fluid is provided as the method for deforming. When the fluid is a liquid, the polymer is preferably slightly soluble in the liquid. The polymer is more preferably one or more selected from the group consisting of a homopolymer or a copolymer containing at least one selected from the group consisting of a polyamide; a polyester; a polycarbonate; rayon, acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, acrylic esters, methacrylic esters, styrene, acrylonitrile and acrylamides as a monomer.
