<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that in a protective agent including paraffin as a main component, toner is melted by the pressure of a brush and the protective agent and in a method using a fluorinated resin as the protective agent, a sufficient amount of fluorinated resin cannot be supplied onto an image carrier, in an image forming apparatus in which various methods for supplying a lubricant to the image carrier, to prolong the service life of the image carrier and a cleaning blade are proposed. <P>SOLUTION: The protective agent includes paraffin as a main component and has a mixture of fluorinated resin particles. It is preferable that the paraffin includes paraffin having an endothermic peak temperature of 60 to 130°C. It is desirable that the average particle diameter of the fluorinated resin particles is 0.1 to 50μm. Such a protective agent is formed in the shape of a bar, scraped by a brush-like protective agent supply member for instance and supplied to the image carrier. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
