<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide liquid fuel property detecting method which enables the detection of alcohol concentration to a high precision without being affected by moisture, and a liquid fuel property sensing device which permanently can maintain high-precision detecting function. <P>SOLUTION: In this method, light of 1,700 nm wavelength, the first wavelength light with a large difference between transmittance to gasoline and transmittance to ethanol and water, and light of 1,400 nm wavelength, the second wavelength light with a large difference in transmittance to water and transmittance to the remaining two components, are irradiated on the fuel consisting of the above three components. Thus concentration of only ethanol containing no water can be detected from the transmittance of each wavelength light computed by receiving transmitted light in the fuel of each wavelength light at phototransistors 13, 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
