PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching-on/off control device for a vehicle light capable of suppressing wrong lighting (instantaneous lighting, passing) generated when an upper part of the vehicle becomes dark instantaneously with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: The device includes a first light receiving element 41 and a second light receiving element 42 having each light receiving surface faced to the upside of the vehicle, and arranged in parallel in the front and back directions of the vehicle; a shielding plate 50 provided between the first light receiving element 41 and the second light receiving element 42, and projecting to an approximately vertical direction from the light receiving surface; and a control means for performing switching-on/off control of the vehicle light based on sensor signals from the first light receiving element 41 and the second light receiving element 42, and switching on the vehicle light only when each signal from the first light receiving element 41 and the second light receiving element 42 reaches a lighting threshold simultaneously.
